There was a lightbulb that went off and said: for the first time ever I think I can be a chef without being able to taste.

DUAL Emmy Nominations FOR "CHEF'S TABLE"

The original Netflix documentary series Chef’s Table intimately transports the audience into the minds and kitchens of extraordinary chefs around the world.

In 2015, Duncan was honored by the Television Academy with his first Emmy nomination in the category of “Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score)” for his work on the profile of Francis Mallmann.  In 2016, Duncan assumed the role of music producer and lead composer for the second, third and fourth seasons of the series. His score for the episode “Grant Achatz”, garnered a second Emmy nomination in the category of Original Dramatic Score.

“The DPs are the great unifiers for Chef's Table, as is composer Duncan Thum, who earned a well-deserved Emmy nomination for the first-season episode on Argentinean chef Francis Mallmann. Every episode is a symphony of kitchen sounds, accompanying Thum's scores and the appetizing visual poetry.”

“Listen to ‘Fantastic Amalgams’ from the Chef Achatz episode below. It’s not hard to imagine it underscoring an epic action flick, thriller or even period drama.”
